My beauty product review today comes from Wei East Cosmetics.
They have the “Skincare Discover Collections” where you can sample a few introductory products. I decided to get the simple kit for $9.99 and includes free shipping too. I also got a face mask and free hand lotion, but I will post about that later.
The package arrived in regular USPS mail within 3-5 days. I also like that it came in a cute little box with very little packaging necessary.
This is what got my attention:
The Story of Rice: Nutrient-laden rice milk has been Chinese women’s
secret to bright, even-toned skin for centuries. The first milk of
freshly cooked brown rice, infused with a secret herbal blend, has
helped generations of mothers and daughters add luster, gain an even,
smooth complexion, erase spots and blotches. Wei East marries the
ancient recipes with advanced western beauty technology to deliver
these luminous benefits to you. Glow with the radiance of Mother
Nature.
I’ve never heard of this beauty secret before. This kit I chose introduces the rice milk.
My First Pick Collection includes:
* BRAND NEW! Bright Lights Rice Milk Clarifying Cleanser 1.07oz
* BRAND NEW! Bright Lights Rice Milk Eye Balm 0.26oz.
* Bright Lights Rice Milk Essence 0.5 fl oz.
* Natural Beauty Perfector Powder Illuminator 0.08oz.
* Natural Beauty Perfector Lip Balm 0.1oz.
* Mulberry Brightening Exfoliating Grains 4 pks
My favorite one of them all is the Bright Lights Rice Milk Eye Balm, Natural Beauty Perfector Lip Balm, and the Mulberry Brightening Exfoliating Grains.
I didn’t like the cleanser very much as I found it takes too long to wash out. I prefer cleansers that washes out fast and easy. The smell also reminds me of drugstore cleanser, such as Aveeno but lighter in scent. Normally I prefer an unscented variety.
As there are so many beauty products to chose from these days, it would be difficult for me to say this is one of my favorite brand. I do like Wei’s message about “living a beautiful life” and also “Where nature meets beauty.”
She also emphasizes natural herbs and botanicals in her skincare products. But there are also some other ingredients which I would leave out (such as parabens). There may be not real danger of adding parabens, but some natural skincare companies usually leave it out.
And the real drawback is how expensive everything is… especially the Natural Beauty Perfector Lip Balm retails by itself for $18.75 (at only 0.1 oz). That is a bit overpriced - no matter how much I like it!
