This summer I wanted to get a really comfortable pair of sandals. I mean super comfortable too.
So I checked out Zappos.com and came upon the many happy reviews for “Earth Footwear”. Especially for the Earth “Sizzle”.

The sandal I chose was Earth “Sizzle” in coral multi straps. When I first wore my Earth “Sizzle”, I noticed how light it felt. Almost like I was barefoot, but better. The sole is really comfortable and the contour of the feet felt like it was molded just for me.
Some of the features are listed below:
- The most defining feature of Earth footwear is Kalso Negative Heel Technology a unique inclined sole that positions the toes 3.7º higher than the heels. The slight angle shifts weight subtly back over the heels, and can help strengthen and tone the body while also burning calories.
- Anatomic Arch Support To complement Kalso Negative Heel Technology, all Earth footwear features reinforced support through the arch. The arch support maximizes the effectiveness of the heel design in promoting a natural walking motion.
- BioFoam Cushioning Inside all Earth footwear, a form-fitting footbed provides exceptional comfort with Biofoam™ cushioning. The proprietary material molds to the shape of the foot, displacing and absorbing shock with each step, and is environmentally-considerate, using 70% recycled content.
There is a small USA flag that read “Designed in the USA” and below it’s “Made in China”.
I like the pastel colors since it reminds me of fruity sorbets. But the idea behind these sandals, reminded me of Fit Flops. Except Earth Footwear has much more selection and interesting features.
I have worn these for almost a week. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the silver lining near the toe area is starting to fade out. And the suede sole area gets dirty really fast. I just hope it doesn’t spread and get worse.
The sandals are true to size and fit me perfectly right out of the box. I have worn them for more than 8 hours a day and my feet have no complaints! They would be the perfect summer sandals to take on vacation. Especially if you will be doing a lot of walking.
The funny part is that my left foot fits perfectly except my right foot is almost 1/2 inch smaller. It’s really not noticeable or a problem. The leather straps were tight at first but it did stretch out.
They are expensive sandals that retail at $99. Luckily I found my Earth “Sizzle” at Amazon Marketplace for $40 (shipping included).
Other things nice about Earth Footwear is that the sandals came with a pair of hemp sandal bags (for storing the shoes). The hemp fabric feel very much like rough linen. It’s a good marketing idea. Since I kept the sandals in the shoe box, I just used the shoe bags for other things.
Here’s a little note from Zappos.com about Earth Footwear:
“For some time, Earth clothing and shoes have incorporated environmentally-friendly practices into the production. Continuously seeking to improve on all they do, Earth was one of the first manufacturers to dedicate 100% of its line to using water-based adhesives.
In addition, they have increased its use of recycled cardboard shanks and environmentally-friendly uppers. Earth continually works to pursue more sustainable product development.”
That is a good example of what companies can do to become more “green”. Earth Footwear sounds like a good company with good values. Way to go Earth!

I didn’t understand this part, is your left foot bigger than your right foot?

I can see the cushions in the heels where it would be very comfortable for walking.

Hi Nye,
Now that you mention… I had to read what I wrote again.
My left foot is NOT that much bigger. Maybe slightly by less than 3 cm. It’s just more noticeable if I look at my right foot and notice how much toe space I have. I also noticed with my other shoes, one foot is always tighter then the other. But it’s so minor, it’s really not a problem.
