I just found out a few cool new ways to send postcards from your computer or iPhone, iPod, or Blackberry. No more worries about finding a postcard at the tourist shop, searching for stamps or mailbox either.

For iPhone and iPod user, there is an app which lets you take a photo and send it as a postcard with a personalized message. But only for U.S. address. Check out goPostal.com
“Simply choose a photo, add your message, and select a mailing address. goPostal will automatically print and mail your postcard to your friends and family.
Each postcard costs $1.29 when using the iPhone application, which includes postage. goPostal also uses state of the art SSL security to verify that all of your information is securely transmitted.” - goPostal.com
Hazel Mail is another choice.
All you do is upload your photo to their site, type in your little note and include an address anywhere in the world. All this will be sent off for only $1.50 (postage included).
“The process is simple: after uploading an image to the site, users add a brief message and the recipient’s address. Hazelmail then prints and ships the card from one of its globally distributed printers.” - Hazel Mail
Download the app for iPhone here. And Blackberry users can go here.
Recently my cousin went to Europe and sent me a nice postcard from Germany (with a really cool stamp). So if she sent me one of these cards, I would miss the stamp. But either way, getting paper snail mail is still very nice to get.

I think there’s still a lot of charm in getting snail mail. I wonder if people can lied about where they are, like sending the postcard from China when they had never visited there.

I never thought of it like that. I was thinking they’ll take a photo next to a popular landmark or something and send you a postcard. But then again, that too can be faked with today’s technology.
Anyway lying is a bad idea, because it will catch up to you sooner or later.
